Larger mini map - You can activate it up by pressing the appropriate key (press M key - PC version).

Default mini map - This one is displayed at the bottom right of the screen at all times.

You can use up to three versions of the map: It allows you to check the type of terrain, locate team members and determine the position of your opponents. The map of the area is one of the most useful features in Desperados III. A civilian in alarmed state will start to flee.

If your hero is in your opponent's field of view, he will start firing. The enemy does not have to reach any bell or allies - the alarm is triggered immediately. Orange color is primarily equivalent to triggering an alarm.For example, if the alarm is triggered by a specific event (tragic accident, prisoner escape, etc.), you can wait in hiding until the enemy returns to the green state. If you're in his field of vision, you need to get out of there or crouch immediately. Yellow means the opponent has gone into an alarmed state.You can avoid being detected by crouching. This happens, for example, if the enemy is watching the area from a long distance or if there are walls and other obstacles in the area. A lighter green color separated by stripes indicates an area that the opponent is not able to observe in 100%.If you step onto this field, the enemy will be alerted immediately (yellow). Unvarying green indicates the area that the opponent is fully observing.Different colors of the cone have different meanings: A colored cone will appear which symbolizes the field of view. To do this, click on a specific character (hover the cursor over the character and press the right mouse button). This will mean moving in a crouched position staying out of his view or alternatively use a sound of some sort to make the Poncho look one way while you go the other.As in Shadow Tactics and previous parts of the Desperados series, each opponent has its own field of view, which can be checked at any time. When you need to get past a Poncho that will not leave his position you should approach slowly so you don't make a noise and if the viewcone permits, try and sneak past him. Sounds in Desperados 3 can be a nuisance because if the enemy hears suspicious sounds, they will turn towards the source of the noise and then go there. Avoid the viewcone turning red at all costs as this often means you will be unable to escape and will result in your characters death. If you are spotted the viewcone will change colour to yellow and the enemy will actively seek you out and when it turns red you have been spotted and nearby enemies have been alerted and are converging on your position. If the viewcone is green the awareness level of the enemy is low and they are not aware of your presence.

Hatched areas of a viewcone mean you can sneak past undetected if you remain crouched, a full colour-viewcone indicates you will be seen no matter whether you are crouched or not.

Hovering around an enemy in Desperados 3 is their viewcone and it is important that you pay attention to its colour as this gives a hint as to how to deal with that particular enemy. This will involve dispatching normal enemies and removing them from sight or using Kate's seductive abilities to have Ponchos look in another direction. Remember when you strategise that Ponchos never move from their position so you will have to formulate a plan that works around them. It is important that you check the view of every viewcone so you are able to see the view of all enemies and see if there are any blindspots you can take advantage of.
